Variables in B2B markets




Business is a function of the following variables.


Business = f(N, T, P, M, A).


Where N is the niche: a specific group of people who have a certain problem and who are in specific circumstances and with similar motivations. It identifies with a particular market segment.


Where T is the transformation (message or claim): the promise made to the niche (your value proposition)


Where P is the price: the price that the niche is willing to pay for the promise to be fulfilled or the transformation to take place.


Where M is the mechanism: the mechanism, solution, or tool used to deliver the promise or transformation.


Where A is the access channel (Access Channel): the system that generates traffic and conversion used to put the mechanism in the hands of the niche, also known as "distribution or acquisition channel.


The objective of this MISSION will be to DISCOVER the audience or segment market (Niche) that has the greatest need (URGENCY) when purchasing your product, who they are, what characteristics they have in common, what motivates them and where they want to go (TRANSFORMATION), how much they are willing to sacrifice (PRICE) , with what type of solution (MECHANISM), where they are and how to reach them (ACCESS CHANNEL).


These variables are what will make up your sales strategy.


Relationships between Business Variables and the order in which they should be resolved

- N (Niche or Target Persona)

The niche is independent of all other variables


- T(N)

The transformation depends on the niche, but is independent of price, mechanism and access channel


- P (T) -> P (T( N)) -> P(T, N) 

The price depends on the transformation and therefore also on the niche, but it is independent of the mechanism and the access channel


- M (P) -> M(P (T, N)) -> M(P, T, N) 

The mechanism depends on the price and therefore also on the niche and transformation, but it is independent of the access channel.

The access channel depends on the mechanism and therefore also on the price, the transformation and the niche


The niche is resolved first by the transformation, then by the price, then by the mechanism and finally by the access channel


The price that the market is willing to pay for the transformation is completely independent of the mechanism used to carry it out (This is a key point that most entrepreneurs discover late.)
