Methods for developing success stories

Method 1: Video or Audio Interview Method Interview
  1. Request
  2. Audit your best customers and reach out to them using this template or your own variation: message template for success

  4. Use editing software like Filmora (Win) or Screenflow (Mac) 
  5. Remove the "ums and ahs" from the clips and cut non-relevant parts of the interview. You can do it with the above software or use https://www.descript.com/ if you do it in english.
  6. (optional) - Add typography animation - text overlay while the client speaks if you want to highlight something.
  7. (optional) - Add royalty free music
  8. (optional) . Add subtitles (We recommend using https://www.happyscribe.co/ to get the subtitles automatically)
  9. Add your logo in the video
  10. Add the logo and name of the interviewee at the beginning of the video

  1. Written case
  2. Transcribe the interview and prepare a written version in your own words: Feel free to be as detailed as possible: specific metrics, times, cause-effect relationships. Insert quotes from the interview to support your claims. We will use these written cases in emails for users who sign up for our newsletter.   3. Create your "bank of success stories": Add images, photos, screenshots, emails,... everything that is beneficial to rescue you one day. This is VERY IMPORTANT that you do it in real time, since later it will be very difficult for you to recover that information if you do not do it at the moment.

Method 2:the Case

In some cases, the client simply doesn't have the time or interest to provide you with a full interview. If this is the case, you will need to write the case studies and use estimation to determine the impact of your solution on their metrics.


  1. Audit what you did for the client and any communication between you 
  2. Develop the before state, what you did, and the after state. Elaborate an approximate result of the client. 
  3. Send the draft to the client for review, comment and approval.
  4. The customer may request that you change some points to increase accuracy.
  5. Add the case to your success banksuccess
  6. Add thestories to the fundamentals template, in the success stories tab, since this way it will be much easier for you to consult them later
Method 3: Decouple the success stories from the name of the client

Sometimes the client cannot provide you with a complete case study as it is subject to an NDA (non-disclosure agreement), a confidentiality agreement.


This is common with large enterprise clients and financial services companies.


If this happens, you can request an interview and write down the business name, industry or sector and the client's personal name by abbreviating their last name, for example Juan F., Marķa G.


This is less effective as it provides less credibility, but you can use it in case you don't have more information available.


Use the steps in Method 1, but make it clear to the customer that any information that could be used to identify the customer will be removed.
