The OIDA 2024 Conference, held in Mexico City, brought together organizational development (OD) experts and leaders from around the world, focusing on critical topics such as digital transformation, diversity, and the future of work. This event served as a platform to discuss and project the future of organizational development in an increasingly dynamic environment.

Key Highlights:
  1. Innovation in OD: Interactive sessions and discussions on real-world cases allowed attendees to share valuable experiences and innovative tools applicable to their own organizations.
  2. Networking Opportunities: Participants highly valued the connection and collaboration activities, enriched by cultural and company visits that facilitated meaningful professional relationships.
  3. Culture and Logistics: The conference not only offered valuable content but also an immersion into Mexican culture, with activities at iconic sites like the Frida Kahlo Museum and Chapultepec Castle.

Challenges and Areas for Improvement: Despite its successes, several areas for improvement were identified, including logistical issues such as session cancellations, limited accessibility for people with disabilities, and an overwhelming schedule that left little time for reflection and rest.

Strategic Plan: Three strategic axes have been proposed to improve future conferences:

  1. Optimization of Content and Sessions: Implement a more rigorous speaker vetting process, promote interactive and accessible sessions, and provide detailed workshop descriptions.
  2. Logistical Efficiency and Communication: Improve transportation planning, offer more complete meal options, and establish real-time communication systems.
  3. Strengthening Networking and Collaboration: Create quiet spaces for meaningful discussions, organize structured reflection sessions after visits, and foster greater inclusivity during social events.

In conclusion, the OIDA 2024 Conference was successful in offering a rich mix of professional content and cultural opportunities, but implementing these improvements will further enhance the experience at future events
